Gonzalo se une a la práctica en 2015 trabajando en diferentes ciudades, como Londres y Lima, hasta alcanzar una experiencia solvente para emprender y fundar su propio estudio de arquitectura E20 Architects, nombre que proviene de “escala 1/20”, siendo ésta la proporción en la que se suelen representar los detalles de un proyecto. Manifestando así, la minuciosidad y sutileza con la que le gusta tratar todos los elementos que intervienen en un proyecto de diseño, ya sea en arquitectura como en cualquier campo.
Nacido en Sevilla y licenciado en Arquitectura Superior en la Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio en Madrid, donde ganó una beca Santander, se mudó a Lima (Perú) tras finalizar su carrera para empezar a fortalecer su experiencia profesional. Allí trabajó durante 8 meses en la empresa “R y T arquitectos”, empresa nacional puntera en estructuras metálicas y arquitectura efímera.
Posteriormente, continuó su desarrollo profesional en Londres donde estuvo trabajando en diferentes estudios de arquitectura enriqueciendo sus conocimientos en diseño, arquitectura y construcción. En 2016 regresó a España dispuesto a ofrecer esos conocimientos adquiridos y empezó a trabajar como Arquitecto en Mallorca (Islas Baleares), donde pudo desarrollar su carrera profesional con el objetivo de crear su propio estudio de diseño. Durante este año realizó un Máster en Estructuras de la Edificación con la idea de abarcar los proyectos con un conocimiento global de todos los elementos que se emplean en el mismo. Este conocimiento abre un abanico de posibilidades en cuanto al diseño de sus proyectos a la misma vez que optimiza considerablemente los tiempos y el presupuesto de la obra.
Gonzalo entiende la arquitectura como un instrumento para mejorar la vida de las personas a nivel funcional y experiencial, realizando una investigación exhaustiva de cada proyecto al que se enfrenta y de las costumbres de cada persona que lo habita. Así, los proyectos responderán a sus gustos y a las necesidades que sus vidas exigen.
Él cree que la calidad de nuestro entorno afecta a la calidad de nuestras vidas y está motivado por su pasión por la sostenibilidad, la innovación y la excelencia.
Durante este tiempo ha sido responsable de proyectos de edificios públicos, edificios residenciales, viviendas privadas e incluso diseño de mobiliario y producto. Para él, todos los elementos son importantes y tienen una función intrínseca en casa espacio.
